PREACH Dr. Cloud!!….Thank you for standing on the Word and clarifying that for Linda. The Word makes it very clear that we as sinners, are declared righteous through faith in Jesus. And when that legal transaction takes place (because of what Jesus did in the cross), as now believers, we arr constantly being sanctified as we deal with the sins in our lives. I love when he mentioned 1John when it says, if we say that we are without sin, we deceive ourselves. Soo true!!

I pray Linda understands this important doctrine of the Christian faith, without it, can lead to a works base salvation, which is no salvation at all.

Hi Steve. I just wanted to tell you that I loved the first evening of Last Dates Before I Do. I think its a great idea. I taped it for my daughter who is 26 and almost engaged but afraid to say yes. I’m going to recommend it to everyone for whom its applicable. I always love everything you do. I’m a long time Women of Faith attendee, long time New Life Live radio show listener, long time reader of books of yours, and more. If its got your name on it, I’m going to look into it. I hope your Last Dates.. is a big success. I think it will help a lot of people. (ps. my daughter met her “almost intended” on e-harmony and she didn’t do the 20 dates and now she’s not sure. I think its because she didn’t go on the 20 dates so she doesn’t have enough experience to compare with).
You’re awesome.

Wow – the caller who was the mistress calls to complain about the ex wife that she was betraying. And she is getting deeper into faith to forgive the ex that SHE was responsibile to hurt. Give me a break. She HAD AN AFFAIR!!!!!!!!!!!! She ought to be ashamed of herself and ought to be out of this relationship. How is any of this the fault of the woman she betrayed.

Regarding the question of where singles (or married people) can find “support: In the Catholic Church there is a program called Cursillo (Spanish for “short course”). This is a 3 day experience of what it means to live a Christian life in modern times. There are a number of reflections given by both lay and religious on topics such as “Grace”, “Sin”, “Piety”, “Study”, “Action”, and others. Most important about this program is what happens after: formation of small groups that meet weekly to support and encourage each other in our common Christian mission.The Cursillo program, started in Spain in the 40s, has been active in the US for ~ 50 years. Here in Peoria we are ecumenical; our Cursillo welcomes Christians of all denominations and is thriving. There are spin offs of this in other Christian churches: De Colores, Via de Christo, etc.
I first understood that God loved ME, and saw joyful Christians at Cursillo.

As I listened to the woman who spoke with such regret and emotion of the guilt she feels looking at her son conceived in an affair, and your response, that HE was not a mistake, I thought of my own adopted son and the letter his birth parents had written to him. They also said they had made a mistake, but HE was not a mistake. I think when my son was conceived, his birth parents were shaken back INTO their faith; and they chose to run to God, not away. Perhaps you could help this woman see her son not as an accusing finger, but as an open, reaching hand of God calling her back to Himself and fidelity in her marriage. He is the image of “new life” in her marriage.
