Seeking the Lost

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost. – Luke 19:10

Dead People

In the movie, The Sixth Sense, a little boy with unusual powers looks up at the character played by Bruce Willis and says, “I see dead people.” As I look at the world around me, I have something in common with that little boy. I see dead people, too, but they’re still walking around in the flesh. Their eyes reflect the sorry truth that their soul has become shriveled, dry and desperate. They’ve lost their purpose and reason for living—or they’ve never found it. Life is a grind, and they feel victimized by everyone and everything. Their deadness is emotional and spiritual rather than physical, but they are no less dead.

The good news is that they don’t have to stay that way! Jesus tells us that He came that we might have life. It’s a simple step to believe in Him, and life is yours!

Life is short, and we do not have much time to gladden the hearts of those who travel with us, so be quick to love and make haste to be kind.” – Henri Amiel

Thanks for the wonderfully worded message. We can easily step from darkness and death into the light of a brand new life thanks to Jesus. Happy New year, Al

That was me from as far back as I can remember; lost and in need of the Savior, Jesus the One Who came to save sinners like me. Just this morning on my drive to work I was recalling how many obstacles I encountered as far back as I can remember in my childhood. A mentally ill father and a loving mother who didn’t know how to deal with his psychosis. But Jesus was there all along, waiting for me to come to my ‘age of faith’- He was developing me although I resisted Him. What an Awesome God we serve.
