Brittany “bigmama” Saab

My name is Brittany “bigmama” Saab, and I could spend not hours but days telling you all about the roller coaster of a life I’ve had during my 23 years of living. It’s filled with a lot of what your lives are probably filled with – the drama, rebellion, humor, struggle, love, pain, redemption…well the list goes on. Now in Oct 2011, I have lost 105lbs. I went from being a bit over 260lbs to now less than 155lbs.

I was a 22 year old recent college graduate. Right after Christmas my parents announced they were shipping me off to San Diego for “Lose It For Life” in January 2010. I almost didn’t make it because I was so mad! There was no way my parents were dragging me to “bible boot camp for fatties”. Now don’t get me wrong, I have a very serious, personal relationship with Jesus, and I was determined to lose weight, but Honey there ain’t no way that me, bigmama, is going to some awkward weekend getaway.

Well, let me tell you, I was so wrong. As soon as I arrived the staff was so accommodating and pleasant. This oxymoron feeling of peace and excitement came over me. After 2 hours of being at “Lose It For Life” I called my parents and apologized. I closed my phone conversation with them by saying, “Love you, oh, and I think I’m about to have an Amazing weekend.”

And an Amazing weekend I had. New Life is the real deal. This is tough love shown at its finest. Steve Arterburn and his team will open your eyes like never before. This experience was incredible. “Lose It For Life” was the boost we all need. You will learn- You will open up- You will listen- You will receive love, knowledge, and encouragement.

You will make amazing bonds and connections with others attending. There are men and women all different ages, shapes, sizes, and with all different types of baggage. And at “Lose It For Life” I saw every man and woman get impacted in some way. This weekend will be the jump start you need. I would so love to keep writing and tell you what your weekend will be filled with. However, I want you to go to “Lose It For Life” not knowing all the details so you will be blown away and come home with your own personal experience that will transform your life.

It is up to you now. This will not be some weekend that you enjoy for the moment and then forget the following week. The “New Life” family will make sure of that.

“Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” – James 4:14

  1. Have heard of this program but now I know someone personally who has benefited from it. Brittany Saab and her family I have known for years. Have seen Brittany and am so very proud of her accomplishment. She looks great. I knew she had lost over 100 pounds but didn’t know how till I got an email from New Life…. I listen to New Life and have read many of your books… Keep up the good work.

  2. WOW – I remember when you went up on that stage. You and God have done a totally amazing thing and I want to say how proud I am. You are a shining star to the others to have not done quite so well, but are still in the process. Much love and gratitude for sharing your story. God is so amazing!!!!
    Blessings,
    Janice

  4. Hello, fabulous and beautiful girl! PRAISE GOD! You look wonderful! I am really proud of you. I don’t know you, but I send you all of the blessings from my heart to yours. Keep up the good work, you deserve it! I would love to go to a place like that. I am alot older than you and I have a thyroid problem of which the doctors say contributes to my overweight issues. I am working on it though. I’ve joined Curves which is helping me and I pray alot to the LORD, that he gives me the strength and the courage to keep me moving forward with it. Again, love and blessings to you.

    • Hi Kelly! I just wanted to send you some encouragement for your journey.. I was over 50 when I started losing my weight & I was over 500 pounds. My knees were barely able to hold me up & I walked with a cane. In my human eyes it looked like an impossibility, but we serve a God who turns impossibilities into the possible!! I’ve lost over 200 lbs in the last 3 years & exercise has become my friend. I’ve been blessed to have found a very supportive & wise trainer, but I know not everyone has the funds or time to go to the gym every day, so it’s just about finding a way to add movement.. walking.. Curves.. the Y.. etc. Enjoy the journey to health.. it’s not about how fast you get there, but just keep doing the right things & you’ll get there in God’s timing! :)

  5. I am glad that Brittany has found a way to access the healing power of the Lord. The Lord is using Overeaters Anonymous to get me in touch with my over eating issues. So far I have lost 150 pounds, & the Lord gets all the credit. Praise the Lord.

  6. Congratulations, Brittany!! You look wonderful and I am so happy for you that you chose to participate in changing your life for the better. God bless you, stay with your program!!!!

  9. Hi Britney,
I am so encouraged by your story. I can be so prideful about my weight. There’s a lot of hurt and pain lurking there. Your testimony is giving me courage to think about, consider attending Lose It For Life. I’ve been on quite a roller coaster ride of weight loss and gain. Because of your transparency, I’m seriously considering going to Lose It For Life. I feel so embarrassed to have to go, but I’ve tried all the other weight loss plans and all it takes is a broken heart to send me spiraling downward again. So, THANK YOU! Thank you for your honesty and transparency! God bless you!

He is not will to support me with the things I need to do but, I can do it. It needs to be for life. I know the Lord can help me I am just beatdown emotional.I pray that this works for your for life.:-) :-)

  12. Brittany, I just saw you by accident on the website. Your testimony is fabulous and I’m so proud of you. You won’t remember me, but I attended the same weekend as you and I remember you well. You were the only other young woman there besides my son’s girlfriend, Melissa, who came with me. Thank you for sharing.
