This is the Every Man’s Battle testimony that was read on the radio today:

I was skeptical of this workshop when I first came. I fell under the camp of “my wife made me go.” I am so very glad that I did. The fellowship with other men having the same struggles was unbelievable. Understanding the brain and the chemistry of what this does was powerful. Understanding tools and decision making points so powerful. Talking and confessing with other men was so powerful. I truly feel that this could be a turning point for my relationship with my wife and my God. New Life is doing a wonderful work for the kingdom. Thank you! – Chris

Our God is a God of restoration. The first thing a couple should do be they Christian or secular is to seek just that. In Matthew 19:4-9, I believe Jesus is saying that this is what God wants. He clearly says that “Whoever divorces his wife ( or in your case your husband), except for sexual immorality, and marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”
In my humble opinion the first thing that you should do is to reconnect with your ex husband. You have not said whether or not you or he are believers. If you are a believer and he is not, you are not obligated to do anything. If he is a believer and apparently did not think it was important to be the spirtitual head of the household, the it is his bad. But if you were both born again believers then you Are obligated to try and restore the marriage.
Father God You are a just and loving God, You are our Redeemer and our Restorer.
I ask Father that not my will be done nevertheless Your will be done. In Jesus’ name amen.

While listening to this program, I heard Dr. Sheri talk about a DVD called “finding your adult voice,” but I haven’t been able to find the DVD anywhere. Can you give me information on how to get ahold of it?
    Thank you so much!

Becky is worried about her daughter being irresponsible and that the responsibility is going to fall onto grammaw. It sounds as if Becky is concerned about finances while daughter is only out to keep having kids with a live and let live attitude. How do you deal with this? I can understand the carefree optimism given the age of the daughter, but also understand the wisdom of the mother. Most people make big mistakes when young and spend the rest of their lives paying for it. Becky knows this and why she is over cautious. People make bad decisions every day and Becky has every right to be concerned. She knows once the marriage goes bad, and the husband is gone, daughter will lean on mom for help. It sounds very negative, but look at the numbers.

I have long resented New Life because of the heavy emphasis on the man when I attended Every Heart Restored years ago. There were excuses for the man but no recognition of the trauma that women go through with an adulterous spouse. I am glad to hear that has changed but the treatment of the issue during my time just traumatized me further. It made it much harder for me ro recover and it almost excused the man from his chosen path of bad behavior. How many tears had to be shed before you guys got it?.
