Happened to hear the call from Connie, the mother of the acting-out 6-year-old son. My son was the same way at that age — he cried every time we saw fireworks, ran after my car when I left for even an hour or two even at age 7, impulsively hit others often, etc. However, now he is an almost straight-A physics major at a highly-competitive university, who will be a junior in the fall. He also works, plays almost all intramural sports and has a longtime girlfriend. The sensitivity that was so difficult when he was small became intense sensitivity to fellow human beings and animals. Listen to your gut and don’t raise him in a way that you know isn’t what he needs — even if everyone else frowns on it. Your efforts and loyalty to his heart will pay off, but right now you’re in the trenches.

I appreciate the call from Michael from Dallas. I rarely attend church, and I personally believe that NewLife will get the message out to more people than a church can. I believe in mass media (radio and television) ministries more than supporting a local church. I do the same as Dave, and divide among organizations I believe in.
