For the last caller: I too was rejected by biological siblings when I found my biological father. I was threatened with legal action if I tried to make contact with ANY family members! The reaction was harsh, spiteful and hurtful. Thankfully I had gone through some counseling and had the emotional fortitude to walk away and respect their wishes. I kept asking myself – if someone contacted me claiming to be a sibling, how would I react? I would certainly look into it, and most definitely not be mean or cruel. I don’t know what was in the family dynamic/history that would warrant such a response, but I decided that I probably didn’t want to be a part of it anyway. I got the answers I needed and that was good enough. God has given me peace about it.
