    Annette,
I was were you are once. My husband did not allow me to have my anger and over 19 years of being married to him, I was left numb and depressed. I turned that anger into myself instead of those who deserved it. He is a deeply shamed little boy inside and on the outside he looks put-together and strong. All I have to say to you my sister is this: You have the right to be passionate and you have the right to be angry and you have the right to disappoint those who love you.
There is healing. I attend Al-Anon regularly for this disease. He was not an alcoholic but he is my qualifier into the program.

    Good luck Sister.

Last caller I got the feeling she was just so used to being degraded, but is stuck. I wish I could have listened further to get the same counseling because I can see myself being passive and numb in the same way with men and their stupid and hurtful comments.
