The caller who said she did not know what to do with her inheritance since her children do not talk to her did not give the circumstance of estrangement. My mother was very ill due to poor health choices, and needed care. So when her physical illness was relieved, many chronic health issues remained. Out of love and respect, my sister and I served her, helping her transition to assisted living. She did not want to stay, she went home and then began triangulating between my sister and I. I refused to be in the middle, suggesting that she contact my sister for clarification and resolution. I recommended counseling. I was verbally abused and then when I still refused to hate, my mother wrote me and told me to not talk to her and refused to make a plan for reconciliation. I obeyed her request, and have not contacted her since her written request. I went to counseling to grieve the abuse and forgive her. Please be careful to assume the children are being disrespectful. I appreciate the comments to revisit the conversation that brought estrangement and how forgiveness is essential. I would love to have a relationship with my mom, and have never wanted any money from her. Please consider the possibility of someone looking for validation for their poor choices. I love your ministry and have grown spiritually and emotionally as the result of the work you do. Thank you, and know that I am praying with you for the Holy Spirit to continue to use you for the Kingdom!
