Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassion never fails. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. – Lamentations 3:21-23
You know what I love about Christmas?
The carols. Christmas carols have an amazing ability to bring excitement to our hearts and move our souls with deep truth. And one particularly soulful hymn is ‘O Holy Night‘. The next time you hear it, I encourage you to listen closely and soak in every word. But in the meantime, let me reflect with you on just a portion of the lyric:
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Til he appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope
The weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
If you’re feeling the weariness of which this song speaks, I encourage you to seek the One of whom it sings. Jesus is the hope that thrills our hearts and causes weary souls to rejoice.

Peace on earth will come to stay when we live Christmas every day. – Helen Steiner Rice
