I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He. – Deuteronomy 32:3-4
Who is God? Is He the sentimentalized, soft, meek, mild and wimpy person stereotypical artists portray?
It’s an important question, both for our eternal and present well-being. If we are unaware, second-guess, or maintain false conceptions of God’s goodness, wisdom, and power, we will surely have trouble giving ourselves to Him in faith, love, and obedience. Consequently, we’ll distance ourselves from Him and strive to live upon our own resources. You see, false conceptions of God lead to false conceptions of who we are, the nature of our problems, and the way to their solutions.
However, if we see a complete picture of who God is-that is, as He’s revealed Himself to us-we’ll realize that we’re safe in His fatherly keeping. Yes, God is loving, compassionate and full of tender mercies. At the same time He’s a powerful warrior, a lion, robed in splendor and majesty.

We know that God is everywhere; but certainly we feel His presence most when His works are on the grandest scale spread before us; and it is in the unclouded night-sky, where His worlds wheel their silent course, that we read clearest His infinitude, His omnipotence, His omnipresence. – Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre
My humble King, thank you for leaving Heaven’s glory to die for me and thank you for inhabiting my heart. I want to know you more, Lord. Amen
