Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. – Psalm 100:4

In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. – 1 Thessalonians 5:18

I’m really proud of our country that we set aside a time each year to celebrate our gratitude to God. It’s a really special time where families and friends typically gather over a turkey dinner in remembrance of our nation’s heritage, remembering the thankfulness the Pilgrim’s expressed in the midst of incredibly difficult circumstances, and give thanks for God’s blessing in our lives today.

And while it’s great that we’ve set a day aside in Thanksgiving to remember and give thanks, sometimes I wonder what we’re thinking? And what does God think about it? We’re blessed in so many ways, and we as a nation remember Him on just one day of the year!

At New Life, we set aside the entire month of November to remember and give thanks—not just a single day. We hope that you have enjoyed the images, scriptures and quotes each morning. I hope that you have felt encouraged each day in November as you read the different offerings. Our prayer for you is that even when the month of November passes and there are no more graphics and quotes, you will continue to cultivate in your heart the attitude of gratitude. I hope that you will remember that even in tough times, we can pause and remember to be thankful that God promised that He would never leave or forsake us. And remember that we give thanks to God not because of how we feel but because of who He is. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!

No matter what the headlines shout, the world only has two stories: bless God or curse God. No matter what the world tries to sell, we all only get to choose from two shelves: Give God thanks or Give God the door. No matter what we’re facing, there are always only two roads: thanksgiving to God or dismissing of God. – Ann Voskamp
