Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. – 1 Chronicles 16:34
As we move through November and begin to prepare our hearts for Thanksgiving, it’s a natural time to pause and reflect on all we have to be grateful for. Here at New Life, one of our long-standing traditions is something we call Thankful Thursday.
It’s simple, really—we take time to reach out with a phone call, a handwritten note, or even a quick message just to say thank you. We’re especially mindful of the many people who support this ministry with their prayers and financial gifts. Though we call it Thankful Thursday, the truth is, it often happens all week long. And we thought—why not share it with you?
Gratitude isn’t just a nice idea—it’s actually life-changing. Neuroscience tells us that practicing gratitude improves our relationships, boosts resilience, and even supports our mental and physical health. It’s been called a natural antidepressant. And as followers of Jesus, we’re reminded again and again in Scripture to give thanks in all things.
So today, let’s practice Thankful Thursdays together. Take a moment to thank someone who’s made a difference in your life. Thank God for His constant presence and provision. It doesn’t have to be big or elaborate—just heartfelt.
You might be surprised how much joy it brings, not just to them… but to you, too.
The grateful heart is like a magnet sweeping over the day, collecting reasons for gratitude. – Max Lucado
